Free Motion Quilting Class 101 - Taught by John Johnson!DATE: Friday, April 10, 2026
TIME: 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM (30 minute break for lunch - please bring a sack lunch, or grab McDonalds or Mr. A’s Pizza nearby)
SKILL LEVEL: Confident Beginner
This course teaches the basics of free motion quilting on your home sewing machine. Topics covered will include free motion feet, sewing surfaces, thread, needles as well as skill building exercises.
SUPPLY LIST:
- Sewing Machine in good working order with the ability to lower the feed dogs (or cover them).
- Free motion quilting (darning) foot for your machine .
- Two good quality spools of 50 weight thread (cotton or polyester)in two different colors.
- Two empty bobbins
- Top Stitch size 80 needles
- Thread snips
- Sewing platform such as a Sew Steady table or slide on table that was included with your machine (not required but very helpful).
