Free meals at the Andrew Shannon Feeding 5000

Free food, entertainment, and more! There will be speakers and performances, then meals will be served following until 3:45 pm while supplies last, with or without a ticket.

**Please note: we allow all the community leaders who donate/support in helping us to provide the meals to speak at the beginning before meals are handed out. There may be a line depending on the time you arrive, please be patient and enjoy getting to know the people in the community*

The event is outdoors permitting weather, please bring folding chairs for comfort while waiting in line.

There may be other resources at this event, such as free health screenings, should anyone need them weather permitting.

Info: We will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with speakers and the members of the community who help to make this happen will be introduced, and may let you know what they do in the community. You'll get the opportunity to see and hear from a lot of Newport News officials, so introduce yourself and mingle. We are building a stronger community.

Info: A line sometimes forms before 2:30 so be sure to bring a folding chair. If you arrive after 3:15 there may be less of a line, but keep in mind that meals are distributed while they last to anyone who arrives in need of a meal and are distributed while supplies last. Unfortunately, we can not hold meals until you arrive for anyone, with or without a meal voucher ticket.
