Born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago, Charles M. Patterson moved to the United States at age 8. He began his dance training at the Boston Arts Academy and at the after-school programme at the Jeannette Neill studio. He further developed his training during summers at The Juilliard School, Jacob‘s Pillow, American Ballet Theater and the Dance Theater of Harlem.
Charles received his Bachelor of Fine Art in Ballet Pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory (2016). He accepted his first company contract dancing with Complexions Contemporary Ballet 2016–2017 season, then joined Dallas Black Dance Theatre in 2018, completing five seasons with the company.
Currently he's a full-time Fine Arts Educator in Philadelphia PA/ Camden New Jersey focused on training pre-professionals and professional company dancers at the Rock School and Pennsylvania Dance Academy.
Charles is an advocate for spreading the importance of Fine Arts Dance Education while continuing to be a leader within his community/ educational system.
