Enjoy a wonderful lunchtime concert in the stunning St Mary Abbots, a neo‑Gothic masterpiece by Sir George Gilbert Scott, built in 1872 and home to London’s tallest spire on a site with roots dating back to the 12th century.
The concert is free with a retiring collection in favour of Glass Door a charity which vision is a future where no one experiences homelessness in London offering advice, shelter and support within the community partners.
The Lexington Singers have been performing quality choral music including major works in central Kentucky and around the world since 1959, making it one of the longest continuously performing independent community choirs in America. Based in Lexington, Kentucky, The Lexington Singers provides opportunities for children, youth, and adults. The Adult Choir is comprised of more than 200+ members. The Lexington Singers currently includes five choirs with over 300 voices total, including four children’s choirs, and an advanced handbell ensemble.
Dr. Jefferson Johnson is Director of Choral Activities at the University of Kentucky, where he conducts the University Chorale and Men’s Chorus and directs the graduate choral program. He holds degrees from the University of Georgia, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Colorado, and is a former member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus under Robert Shaw.
Dr. Johnson is also Artistic Director and Conductor of the Lexington Singers, a 180‑voice community chorus that performs major works annually with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra. Under his leadership, the Singers have toured internationally throughout Europe and South America, with notable performances at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, and Carnegie Hall.
An active adjudicator and clinician, Dr. Johnson has worked with honor choirs across the United States and regularly appears at national and regional choral conferences.
