Sometimes, when a nation’s outlook seems darkest, men put their lives in critical danger to boost the spirits of the folks back home. That's what Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle and his men did when they undertook a seemingly impossible mission to bomb Tokyo not long after the Pearl Harbor attack.
