City of Gering landfill customers will be able to clean up their properties and dispose of the unwanted materials for free. The Gering Landfill will be open Saturday, April 20th from 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon.The FREE LANDFILL DAY is for City of Gering Landfill customers ONLY*. Customers will be required to present a utility bill with a matching driver’s license to dump their trash at the landfill. Customers will only be allowed to dump a standard size pickup box (4' x 8') or a 8' trailer load of garbage. Please make sure your trailer or pickup box is covered. The city reserves the right to accept or reject any load.
The landfill will accept 4 tires without rims per customer. They will also accept two appliances (washer, dryer, refrigerator, deep freeze, water heater, furnace, and air conditioner) per resident. Appliances with freon must be evacuated.
The City of Gering Landfill will also be accepting oil for recycling. They will accept 5 gallons of used oil per customer.

*If you receive a bill from the City of Gering for your regular trash service, you can participate in the free landfill day. This includes residents in Gering, Lyman, Mitchell, and Bayard.
