Join Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Collective for a relaxed, collaborative knitting session exploring care, connection and collective making.About this Event
Join us at The Bomb Factory Art Foundation for a relaxed, collaborative knitting session led by artist collective Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Safety Blanket is an ongoing series of workshops where participants knit collectively from the same piece, creating a multi-edged form that grows outwards over time. As the artwork expands, it becomes a starting point for conversation, shared learning and unexpected moments of connection between strangers.
Rather than focusing on technical perfection or individual outcomes, this workshop embraces experimentation and collective learning. Mistakes are welcomed as part of the process and remain visible within the final piece.
This is a gentle, informal space for making, talking, observing and spending time creatively with others - no pressure, no previous experience required.
Free workshop, all materials provided.
Photography may take place during the session for documentation and promotional purposes. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let a member of staff know on arrival and we will ensure your wishes are respected.
If you have any access requirements, please get in touch with us in advance or speak to a member of the team on the day. We are happy to make adjustments where possible to support your participation.
About the Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Collective: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is a collective formed in 2019 by artists Sophie Dickson, Jessie Evans, Katerina Mimikou and Ines Cardo. Emerging from their shared BA in Fine Art, the group explores themes of home, domesticity, social roles, craft, mental health and community through collaborative practice. Their work seeks to revalue embodied, communal and often overlooked forms of knowledge, using intimate, everyday actions to create spaces for shared learning and connection between artists and the public.
Safety Blanket is an ongoing series of collaborative knitting workshops in which participants contribute to a single, expanding textile. As the piece grows outwards, it becomes a site for conversation, shared learning and spontaneous connection. Open to all levels, the workshops prioritise collective making over technical perfection, with mistakes embraced as part of the process. Through simple acts of making and exchange, the work creates a relaxed environment that encourages participation, connection and a sense of ease.
