Our HUD-approved Home Buyers Workshop isn't just for First Time Home Buyers. Anyone looking to purchase a home should attend our workshop. Purchasing a home will most likely be the largest purchase you will make in your life. Don't you think you should learn the ins and outs to help you through the home buying process? At the end of the workshop, you will receive your certificate.  The Home Buyer Education Certificate is required for buyers who plan to use Down Payment Assistance programs.

The certificate received at the end of the workshop is NOT AN APPROVAL for down payment or closing cost assistance programs. It is a REQUIREMENT for down payment assistance programs.  Please consult your lender for more information regarding your local programs.  The course certificate is valid for one year.

FAQs

You must complete and submit your HELP CDC Workshop Application to RESERVE YOUR SEAT at the workshop. Registration applications must be received at HELP CDC by 12:00 noon on Friday, August 26th or when the class is full.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? YES. Please bring your identification. If more than one person will attend the workshop, each individual must register separately but you will be asked to sit together. Each person who attends the workshop must sign-in AND have submitted their HUD-required Intake Application and Workshop Survey to receive a course certificate. Childcare is not available. Due to the length of the workshop, we advise against bringing children.

What can I bring to the event? If you have a tendency to be cold, we encourage you to bring a sweater or light jacket.

Will there be food? We will have morning refreshments. Pizza for lunch! Beverages available all day, too!
