About this Event
Step back in time with a compelling historical retelling by Nashville historian David Ewing, exploring Nashville’s pivotal role in the fight for women’s suffrage. Discover the stories and personalities that shaped the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
Suffrage Sundays is a free March-long series at Church Street Park celebrating Women’s History Month through music, storytelling, wellness, and creative experiences. Each Sunday features a different event honoring women’s voices and downtown Nashville’s pivotal role in the women’s suffrage movement.
Located just steps from where Tennessee cast the deciding vote to ratify the 19th Amendment in 1920, Church Street Park provides a meaningful backdrop to connect history with the present. Suffrage Sundays highlights both the legacy of women who fought for the right to vote and the voices shaping today, with performances by Song Suffragettes (Nashville’s long-running, all-female singer-songwriter showcase) alongside hands-on activities and community programming.
Come for a Sunday afternoon in the park, stay for the stories, and celebrate the women who shaped our future. All events are free and open to the public.
Programmed by the Nashville Downtown Partnership in collaboration with Metro Parks Nashville & powered by Amazon.
