A free, gentle guided walk over Allermuir and Caerketton Hill in the Pentland Hills, built especially for anyone who's finding it hard to get back outdoors, whether that's low confidence, recovering from illness or injury, or simply feeling isolated.
The path is well trodden and rises gently from the old clubhouse on Biggar Road, steeper in a few places, up to the summit of Allermuir, before dropping and rising again towards Caerketton Hill. There's a chance of spotting the resident highland cows along the way, gentle creatures best admired from a respectful distance, and views out to the local hills and nearby Munros the whole way round. There's a coffee shop at the bottom of the hill for afterwards too.
The pace throughout is gentle and genuinely supportive, no pressure, no need to keep up with anyone. This walk is here for exactly where you are right now, not where you think you should be. Open to adults 18 and over.
Led by Debbie with supportive guiding and local knowledge of the area's history, flora, fauna, and geology.
