About this Event
Join us for a relaxed, free community event as part of International Bystander Awareness Day (IBAD).
We’ll be screening , the documentary in which Bill Genovese revisits the M**der of his sister Kitty and the long‑held narrative that many people witnessed her attack but didn’t act. The film unpacks that narrative and explores how the idea of bystander behaviour became central to social psychology.
There’ll be:
- FREE film screening – The Witness 2015 (+16) followed by pannel discussion.
Content Warning: Graphic Violence. - FREE Snacks and refreshments
- Live Orchestra
- Panel Discussion: opportunities to hear local charities and community organisations.
- Chance to book on a FREE Practical workshop on safe bystander intervention
This is a relaxed, inclusive event.
Free and open to everyone. Booking is required.

About IBAD:
We mark International Bystander Awareness Day on 13 March to honour Kitty Genovese on the day she died and to raise awareness of why people hesitate to act, and how bystanders can choose intervention instead.
