FREE Exclusive Relaxed Pantomime - Mother Goose

Following the success of last year’s event, we’re excited to announce that SEND Sensation, in partnership with Essex County Council, is once again bringing families a fantastic festive opportunity — a Relaxed Pantomime Performance of Mother Goose at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester (CO1 1PT)!

This event is completely FREE, generously funded by Essex County Council, and exclusively for families registered with Essex Short Breaks.

We have access to 350 tickets for this magical evening, while maintaining a calm, relaxed atmosphere by limiting the audience to 50% of the theatre’s capacity.

• Accessible Seating:
  8 tickets are reserved for wheelchair users (4 users + 4 carers). If you need this option, please use the dedicated ‘Wheelchair User’ booking link, which appears after the ticket section on Eventbrite.
• Limited level access seating is available for those who are unable to use stairs, please ensure you request this when booking.
• Limited spaces are also available close to the BSL interpreter for those who rely on this support. Please indicate this requirement when booking to help us accommodate you appropriately.

To book your tickets:

• You must have your Short Breaks Passport ID or Reference Number (found next to your child’s name in your Short Breaks account).
• Book 1 ticket per person (maximum of 4 tickets per family).
• Your place is not confirmed until all required details are completed and you receive your tickets by email.

What to Expect on the Day:
Mercury Theatre is committed to making the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. Here’s what will be in place to support families:

• Social story provided in advance to help prepare for the visit
• Ear defenders available to borrow
• Breakout space with sensory items if a quieter area is needed
• Upstairs bar area will have a live relay of the show
• Pre-show introduction to introduce characters and flag any big moments
• Lighting will remain slightly raised in audience areas
• Loud sound effects will be softened for comfort
