Completed purifiers are roughly 20x20x6 inches (length, height, depth). Once completed, you can choose to take them home, or leave them with Mask Bloc SJSU to distribute on campus / to the surrounding community.
Background
DIY air purifers are an accessible tool and device that reduces airborne pathogens and protect against air pollution, smoke from fires, and airborne diseases like COVID-19. They're also useful for lessening other irritants in the air like dust and fur.
How it works
The box fan directs air through the MERV 13+ filter which collects potientially harmful air particulates before the air is recycled back into the room.
This creates an environment for clean and healthy air to enter and cycle through a space when the area is heavily congested or has undesirable air quality from smoke and air pollution.
Building your own DIY air purifer is an economically accesible route from expensive high end air purifiers with the same effectiveness.

Location
Meeting Room 4 (labeled 4A & 4B in blue) on the "Upper Level" of the Student Union (boxed in red).

The event will be indoors on the 2nd floor of the Student Union. There are three elevators on the ground floor, indicated as up and down arrows on the "Ground Level" image.
One elevator is located near the left of the Union Square next to the bathrooms. The second and third is located near the stair cases to the left and right of the Spartan Bookstore.
Additionally, each elevator has a corresponding staircase near it indicated by ascending squiggly lines.
Air purifers (CR boxes) will be running in the space as a precaution for infectious viral diseases.
High quality respirators (KN95+ masks) are required & provided!
Parking Information
There are parking garages nearby campus with a weekend cost of $8. The nearest ones are located on San Fernando St and 9th St and located on 10th St. Additionally, there is street parking available around campus for free. Please don't park at Grocery Outlet, they will tow you.
