District 33 Umpire Mechanics Clinic
Come join us for a hands-on Two-Umpire Mechanics Clinic where you can sharpen your skills and learn from experienced umpires. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your techniques, this clinic is perfect for anyone wanting to get ready for the coming season.
Dress will be casual athletic clothes; umpire attire is not required.
Please bring:
- mask and indicator (if you have them)
- baseball glove (participants will be be players for some drills)
- water bottle

Info: Learn the six basic mechanics for plate and base positions: ball, strike, time, safe, out, foul
Plate stance/positioning
Info: Learn the proper stance, timing, and call mechanics.
A Position: Learn proper positioning for balls hit to the infield and outfield
B Position: Learn proper positioning for balls hit to the infield and outfield
C Position: Learn proper positioning for balls hit to the infield and outfield
Proper positioning for tag plays at home or on bases
Info: You'll learn how to be in the best position—commonly referred to as "the wedge"—to move and see tag plays.
Basic six
Info: Reinforce the instruction that we learned throughout the day.
