Being able to apply lifesaving techniques during an emergency until first responders arrive can mean the difference between life and death for someone. Join North Metro Fire on September 28 to learn CPR and bleeding control skills for free in interactive, hands-on classes. North Metro firefighters will teach CPR, how to use an AED, how to rescue someone from choking, and how to pack a wound and apply a tourniquet, among other important skills. Sign up to secure your spot in one of our classes!
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an essential lifesaving skill that North Metro Fire encourages all residents to learn. For someone who goes into cardiac arrest outside of the hospital, chances of survival are near 10%. However, if someone receives immediate CPR by a bystander until first responders arrive, that person’s chances of survival increases 2-3 times.
Likewise, in the case of a traumatic injury, being able to control bleeding can greatly increase a person’s chances of survival. North Metro Fire encourages all community members to learn these lifesaving skills to help improve survival rates in our district.
CPR Classes: 8-10 a.m.; 12-2 p.m.
Bleeding Control Class: 10:30-11:30 a.m.
