🎶 OPENING CEREMONY – WOWFEST 2026 🎶

Join us for the Opening Ceremony of WOWFest: Wells Orchestral Weekend 2026, featuring glittering performances by the Irish Chamber Orchestra Youth and pianists from the Leon Fleisher Academy (New York, USA).

This celebratory opening event launches the festival’s 4th edition, welcoming 300 young musicians from the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, USA and Brazil to Wells for a weekend of free performances across the city’s most iconic venues, including Wells Cathedral, Cedars Hall, St Thomas & St Cuthbert’s churches, Wookey Hole and the Bishop’s Palace.

The Leon Fleisher Academy continues a distinguished pianistic tradition rooted in the lineage of Beethoven through to Leon Fleisher, focusing on artistic depth and musical understanding, and supporting the development of young pianists through international collaboration and performance opportunities.

The Irish Chamber Orchestra Youth brings together exceptional young string players from Ireland, offering high-level orchestral training and performance experience under professional artistic direction.
