FREE Community Meals at Lititz Church of the Brethren begin on November 19 and will be held monthly on the third Wednesday of the month. The meal will start at 6:00 pm in the Family Life Center (enter the rear of the church). The community is invited; there is no charge for the meal but there is an opportunity to donate. A program will be held after the meal from 6:45 to 7:45 pm focusing on peace and justice. The November and December program for adults will be an introduction to Kingian Nonviolence (KNV). KNV is a philosophy and methodology with knowledge, skills and motivation people can use to apply peaceful strategies for solving personal and community problems. Rooted in the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., this proven framework equips individuals and groups to address conflict, foster justice and build communities grounded in peace. Hopefully being introduced to this program will offer the tools and inspiration needed to help individuals and groups take action. These introduction sessions will be presented by Sara Haldeman-Scarr, KNV Trainer and Interim Pastor for Ambler Church of the Brethren.
Children’s Peace Clubs will be offered at the same time. There will be two groups, children in grades K to 5 and a toddler/preschool group. Youth are welcome to attend the adult sessions.
There is no need to register for the meal or the adult program, however, to have enough staff coverage, please contact the church office to register children for the Peace Clubs.
