Beloved community,On March 29 we open the doors of the ballroom for a free Ecstatic Dance as a gift to the community and an invitation for new souls to experience the prayer of movement we have been co-creating together.
This space has grown through your presence, your devotion to the dance, and the care you bring to the floor each week. We would love your support in helping us share that magic more widely.
***During a short portion of the dance, a small team will be capturing video to help us share the spirit of this community with the wider world. If you prefer not to be filmed, you are welcome to simply let the camera team know and they will do their best to honor your boundaries.
More than anything, this gathering is an invitation to bring friends, invite someone who has never experienced Ecstatic Dance Oakland, and help expand the circle.
Music Journey:
The dance will be guided by a hybrid DJ set from Sontéa, blending electronic grooves with live instrumentation, vocals, and global textures.
Expect an expansive sonic journey weaving Afrobeats, Amapiano, deep house, bass, and organic global rhythms, while still honoring the arc and spirit of an Ecstatic Dance wave, from grounding and sensual grooves to uplifting, ecstatic peaks and a spacious landing.

Let the dance be your language, we keep the floor a space of movement rather than words.
Follow what feels true in your body, honor your own boundaries, and practice consent in every interaction.
We gather in a clear, substance-free field, no alcohol or drugs.
Please keep phones away so we can be fully present together.
Dance barefoot if you can, or wear soft-soled dance shoes if needed.
This is a community space open to all ages and expressions.
