Free Children's Singing Day (Ages 8-13)

St Martin-in-the-Fields are delighted to be partnering with St George-the-Martyr Borough to host an exciting free event that shares our love of singing with even more young people - all within their beautiful venue, just opposite Borough Tube Station. Led by Phoebe, an Associate Choral Leader at the renowned St Martin's, and (another!) Phoebe, Director of Music at St George's, this free Children's Singing Day invites children aged 8–13 to spend a fun day making music together.

We welcome all young singers, from experienced choir-goers who want to take their skills further to those with little or no experience who simply love to sing and want to give it a try. The day will include engaging activities and fun music suited to a range of abilities.

While the atmosphere will be friendly and supportive, we set high expectations for all participants. We ask that every child comes ready to focus, work hard, and take pride in what they achieve together.

The Children's Singing Day culminates in a joyful Family Carol Concert at 3 pm, where parents, friends, and members of the public are warmly invited to join us. The concert will include congregational carols, so everyone can take part in the singing and get into the Christmas spirit, led by our young performers!

From hundreds of world-class concerts each year and regular tours to vibrant community and education programmes, St Martin-in-the-Fields is internationally recognised for its outstanding music-making. On the day, the children will sing alongside talented vocalists from the St Martin-in-the-Fields choirs, as well as music students from London’s top conservatoires and music schools, accompanied by a professional organist and instrumentalists.

This is a fantastic free opportunity for young people to learn from leading musicians and conductors, make new friends, and discover the excitement of performing as part of a large ensemble - all in the heart of London!
