Join us for story time with award-winning author Brenda Child (Red Lake Ojibwe) as she reads her book Bowwow Powwow!About this Event
On Tuesday, May 21 2023, at 5:15 PM (Central Standard Time), we will gather with Brenda Child at our library to embark on a journey with Windy Girl and Itchy Boy in Bowwow Powwow.
The first 40 kids will receive a free copy of Bowwow Powwow!
Come join us for a fun evening filled with children's activities, stories, laughter, and imagination at The Family Partnership! This free, in-person event is perfect for kids of all ages who love to explore the magical world of books.
Our friendly staff will ensure a safe and welcoming environment throughout the event. So mark your calendars and bring your little bookworms. We can't wait to see you there!

About the Author
Brenda Child (Red Lake Ojibwe) is a professor of American Studies at the University of Minnesota and author of Boarding School Seasons: American Indian Families, 1900-1940, Holding Our World Together: Ojibwe Women and the Survival of Community, and My Grandfather's Knocking Sticks: Ojibwe Family Life and Labor on the Reservation, 1900-1940.
Jonathan Thunder (Red Lake Ojibwe) is an award-winning painter and digital media artist living in Duluth, Minnesota.
Gordon Jourdain (Lac La Croix First Nation) teaches at the Misaabekong Ojibwe Language Immersion program for Duluth Public Schools.
About The Family Partnership
The Family Partnership is a generational healing organization in Minneapolis. We believe when this generation heals, the next generation thrives. Our core programs are rooted in early childhood education and care, family home visiting, outpatient mental health, and anti-sex trafficking.
We are excited to launch our Big Little Free Library located at 1527 E. Lake St. Minneapolis, MN. The library is open to the public on weekdays from 9am-5pm. Stop by and explore, take home a free book, and share it with a friend.
