Calling all birders! The City of Battle Creek is partnering with the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary (KBS) for the last of our FREE bird identification walks of the year on Thursday, September 11 from 6 to 7:30 pm. Lisa Duke, grounds manager of KBS, will be leading a birding walk and teaching participants how to use the Merlin and eBird birding apps on your smartphones and to highlight local birds we will be seeing and hearing. Please park at 200 Stringham Road (the dead-end at the end of Stringham Rd.) just off of River Road. The group will walk along the Linear Park along the Kalamazoo River. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear good walking shoes. Bring binoculars if you have them, but there will be some available to borrow if you need a pair. This event is part of a National Fish & Wildlife Foundation grant for habitat restoration.
