As a lead-up to a huge week of MiLB and MLB games at the Field of Dreams, Five Flags Center in Dubuque will host a baseball movie marathon in the historic Five Flags Theater on Sunday, August 9.
Doors open 1 hour prior to screenings. Refreshments available for purchase.
1:00pm The Bad News Bears (1976 - 50th anniversary) stars Walter Matthau, Tatum O'Neal, Vic Morrow, and Joyce Van Patten. An ex-minor leaguer takes on an undisciplined, inept sandlot team, and has to bring in a couple of ringers to get them out of a slump. Rated PG.
3:30pm The Sandlot (1993) stars Tom Guiry, Mike Vitar, Patrick Renna, Karen Allen, Marty York, and Chauncey Leopardi. A comedy about a summer of friendship and adventure during which one boy becomes part of a team. Nine boys become best friends and their leader becomes a legend by confronting the terrifying mystery beyond the left field fence. Ruff! Ruff! Rated PG.
6:00pm The Benchwarmers (2006 - 20th anniversary) stars Rob Schneider, David Spade, Jon Heder, Craig Kilborn, and Molly Sims. Underdog comedy about a trio of nerdy grown-ups with minimal athletic ability who form a three-man baseball team to challenge bullying Little Leaguers. Rated PG-13.
