Nikki and Mikey will guide you through the basics in a way that’s approachable, encouraging, and easy to follow, so you can come in curious and leave feeling accomplished. No pressure, no experience needed, and it’s free to attend.
🏖️ What Is Balboa? 🏖️
Balboa is a swing dance with its own style. Originating in Southern California, it’s known for its close connection, stylish footwork, musicality, and effortless-looking movement. During this two-hour bootcamp, you’ll learn the core elements of the dance, including rhythm, connection, movement techniques, and beginner patterns that help you start dancing right away. The goal is to get you moving, feeling confident, and having fun while grasping the basics of Balboa in a practical way. You don’t need a partner, dance experience, or special gear to participate. Just wear comfortable clothes, bring shoes you can move in, and come ready to try something new.
