Attendees will learn about different types of art journalism, how to come up with ideas, how to pitch ideas to local editors, and how to interview artists and creatives about their work. We’ll also host a panel discussion with a few Sacramento-based arts journalists to talk about their careers and answer questions. Light refreshments will be served.
Our training is open to anyone interested in reporting on Sacramento’s art scene! ?‍? While our curriculum will target college students and recent grads — especially those interested in a career in this field — we feel that people of any life stage and age who appreciate arts coverage might also benefit from attending. The training is FREE!
