Free Arts/Arizona Gives Day Open House and Art Drive

We will host an open house, with tours throughout the day, and an art station set up in the classroom. The on-site art activity will be a community quilt project, where participants will be given a square piece of fabric to draw or write on using fabric markers. Staff will be on hand to deliver an art prompt and to guide the process. The resulting fabric squares will become “blocks” in a community quilt that will be sewn together by Free Arts staff members, volunteers, and members of the Phoenix Modern Quilt Guild.Tours and quilt block making will happen on the hour (10am--6pm), and on an ad hoc basis throughout the day.We are also hosting an art supply drive in conjunction with the event. Optional: bring art supplies that our participants use throughout the year for our programs.Help us make this the best AZ Gives Day ever. Come learn how your support takes shape at Free Arts!
