Join us for a FREE Artist Talk and glassblowing demonstration this September with Glass Annex Program Coordinator, Emily Potter!Potter is originally from Northwest Ohio and received a BFA from Bowling Green State University. She began working with glass in 2018 and is drawn to the material’s fluidity and transformative nature, which can mimic the rhythmic repetition of organic forms of the vast, rolling fields in her childhood.
Learn about Potter’s process and inspirations during her Artist Talk. Her talk and demo are in conjunction with her special topic class, "Fire to Finish", which teaches students how to use cold shop techniques to add finishing flares to their blown glass pieces.
Emily Potter will also lead the First Friday Glassblowing Demo on September 5 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Belger Glass Annex (1219 East 19th St., KCMO)
