FREE ART CLASSES FOR CHILDREN to begin on Tuesdays during March 2026 9am-12pm at the Matlacha Community Park, 4577 Pine Island Rd NW in the Pine Island Art Association building. Classes will be March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st from 9am-12pm.
- Each child to bring their own art supplies, artist quality if possible
- Bring something you are working on, or an inspiration piece such as a photo, or object. A still life will be set up for those without one.
- All age children able to concentrate and work independently. Adults will not sit with children while they work, but will stay in the building at another table
- Parent or guardian must stay on premises
- No pre registration
- Wear something you don't mind getting paint on
- Classes are each Tuesday beginning March 3rd, from 9am till 12pm. Bring lunch, or a snack and something to drink
There will be a critique at the end of each class so that the students may discuss their piece with the group using ‘constructive criticism’ to talk about the work.
The Greater Pine Island Kiwanis Club and Williamson Brothers have generously donated money to supplement their art supplies so that we may explore different techniques, and a variety of materials.
