Overview

FREE AIR: Maker & Medium is part of the Green Religion Gratitude Series, co-led by Miami-based artist, designer, and eco-spiritual advocate John DeFaro and dancer, choreographer, and transdisciplinary artist Niurca Márquez.

John and Niurca have collaborated for nearly five years, developing a shared language of art, meditation, and eco-spiritual reflection. Their partnership is central to the Green Religion® mission: weaving together visual art, performance, and collective ritual to address climate justice, resilience, and healing.

At Pridelines, John and Niurca will guide participants through a two and a half-hour gathering that blends guided meditation, gratitude practice, eco-spiritual reflection, and communal artmaking. Together, they invite attendees into a living, evolving work of art and advocacy, one that bridges personal healing with collective environmental care.

Event Goals

• Introduce Green Religion as an eco-spiritual platform and ally of the LGBTQ+ community.

• Connect healing practices (gardening, meditation, artmaking) to climate justice and resilience.

• Ease climate anxiety by reframing personal healing as collective care for Earth.

• Engage participants in communal painting of the FREE AIR maquette, symbolizing stewardship.

• Provide each attendee with a Golden Seed of Intention as a symbolic gift to carry forward.
