Our society fears the non-conforming. This halloween let's give them something to be scared of. We've been made monsters, villians, and freaks for our inability and refusal to conform to the norms that have led to this depleted and disconnected world. It is time that we embrace our power to wreck worlds. Villains always lose because they are working alone. Too many of us (especially those of use who are health-conscious) have been isolated, abandoned, and vilified for wanting better for all of us - let's create better together.
Join us for a disability-centered celebration with dance, art, costume contests, and covid-conscious drag performances.; FreakFest is a commitment to crip lives, funds raised support local disability disaster relief efforts, including a winter Crip Disaster Relief workshop series run by advocate Henry Maeko, and the purchase of bulk emergency preparation supplies.
Consider the shapes we've contorted ourselves to fit into these untenable realities. How have you sewn together your broken flesh cut by the cruel edges of our society? What sounds are waiting to be unleashed at the bottom of your rage? What voice croaks in the shadows of your hidden truths?
Come scream, ghoul, dream, scheme, and grieve with us while the lights are still on.
*Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. We ask that there be one parent or legal guardian for every 3 children between the ages of 3-15. Contact us with questions!
*DRESSCODE: Wear whatever you want and keep in mind that this is a family friendly event. Keep your t-shirts appropriate for kids and cover all bathing suit parts!
*VENUE: Please note that Fallout we will be blocking off any adult areas/items/art/etc so they are inaccessible/unseen. For this family friendly event we are taking all precautions to make it age appropriate.
*BEHAVIOR:INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR OR HATEFULNESS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, We reserve the right to remove anyone making this an unsafe or unwelcoming environment.
