Join us for an afternoon of Russian and French music at Christ Church Lutheran. Anatoly Liadov takes eight Russian folk dances and transforms them into humorous and fantastical orchestrations, which show his time well spent with his teacher, Rimsky-Korsokov. An arrangement of selections from Sergei Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet showcases the characters and moods from the dramatic tale. Jean René Désiré Françaix's first wind quintet wildly demonstrates the extreme ability to play rapid notes while using the extreme ranges and techniques of wind instruments to produce an exciting end to our program.
