Senior Friends of Newnan is pleased to announce our September Lunch on the Fly will be held on Tuesday, SEP 30, at 12:30pm at Frank's Family Restaurant.Frank's is proud to be the 2nd oldest restaurant in the Coweta County area and is very blessed by community support over the last 35 years.
Franks serves up Greek, Italian and all American favorite foods-their menu is huge!
(Personally, I’ve always loved their lasagna.)
Parking is limited so you may want to carpool.
The reservation is for 20 people.
Reservations are required and as always are limited to members.
After booking group lunches for the last several years, we ran into a first.
We had to give a credit card to hold the reservation.
Franks will charge us a $10 fee per no-show.
When you book a reservation for a group, the restaurant has to plan accordingly on their end to be able to accommodate the group. They must ensure they have an adequate number of staff scheduled to work during that time and day.
A table left empty when a group fails to show up for its reservation costs a restaurant money and may alienate walk-in customers who are told they can't sit there.
It also gives our group a bad name if we book for a large number but only have a handful show.
That's why I've been trying to stress the importance of cancelling if need be so when I call the restaurant a week prior, I can give them an accurate headcount.
With this condition in place, RSVP for this lunch will be handled differently.
Rather than have to hunt a member down after the lunch who no-shows to collect money from them, the Board has decided to collect $10 per person from each person signing up for this lunch.
Reservations will be only accepted in person.
Each person who signs up must place $10 (or $20 for a couple) in an envelope.
Seal the envelope and write your name/s on the front of it.
Envelopes will be provided at our Lunch on the Flys, Golden Corral meeting, and Fall Picnic.
Envelopes will be placed in a blue box normally used to collect membership dues.
You may sign up and pay at our JUL 29 or AUG 26 Lunch on the Fly, pay at our Golden Corral meeting on AUG 20, or pay at our Fall picnic on SEP 10.
SEP 10 is the last day to sign up and pay.
SEP 10 is also the last day to cancel your reservation.
If you're unable to attend the JUL and AUG Lunch on the Fly and AUG 20 Golden Corral meeting and you can't find someone to bring your money to any of those activities and sign you up on your behalf, there is another option.
You can write a check for $10. Make it payable to Senior Friends of Newnan.

We are not accepting emails for reservations for Frank's like we normally do for Lunch on the Fly.
You may write and mail a check. Once your check is received, you'll receive an email to let you know it was received and you are on the list.
Your check will be placed in an envelope and returned to you at Frank's on SEP 30.
The Board will bring all of the envelopes to Frank's on SEP 30.
Envelopes will be returned to those who are present so those people attending don't lose any money.
For anyone who no-shows or cancels after SEP 10, you will forfeit your money.
