SYNOPSIS
At the age of 18, Mary Wollstonecraft began writing what would be one of the world’s most important and influential novels: FRANKENSTEIN, or, THE MODERN PROMETHEUS. Her protagonist, young Victor Frankenstein, in his ambition to defeat death, creates a living man of reanimated dead tissue. Unable to control, or to love, his creation, Frankenstein decides to destroy it instead. But the Creature is no mindless mass of flesh: he is a thinking being who escapes his creator’s wrath and returns to take his revenge. Fast-paced, thought-provoking and blood-chilling, this adaptation of the novel retains all the emotion and horror of Shelly’s brilliant book.
Of his text, Tichenor said, “Through well-fought debate and action, I wanted to combine the intellectual satisfaction of Shelley’s novel with the fun and thrills of a really scary horror story. In other words (to use a little Hollywood pitch-speak), it’s George Bernard Shaw meets Stephen King.”
