Frank Porter brings his amazing looper pedal solo acoustic guitar act to Hope & Coffee once again! If you have not witnessed with both your eyes and ears the magic that Frank Porter weaves with the use of a simple device called a looper pedal than you are missing out. He took first place in a Gibson Guitar sponsored guitar soloing competition beating out 320 people from 6 states. This is why he has invented his looper technique, which sounds like two well rehearsed guitarists working together doing fairly complex arrangements. To do this live takes a lot of practice/rehearsing and he's done it on live television before which takes a certain amount of hutzpah.
YOU NEED to SEE and HEAR for yourself. The use of the looper allows him to play those award winning guitar solos in a one man act. Cool stuff! And you know that Gibson Guitars doesn't hand out awards to anyone who walks through the door. This is world class lead guitar work in a style and of a caliber that competes with an English guy named, Eric Clapton.
Frank admits his influences are, "those British Rockers, Clapton, Beck and Page" all the time. Among others. You'll hear and see some Eddie Van Halen moves if you are there for the whole show. Roy Clark and Chet Atkins are also guitar influences along with Ace Frehley nd Jimi Hendrix and a guy named Danny Gatton.
