A man of many hats — literally and figuratively — Frank Meyer is an award-winning musician, director and author from Los Angeles.

Musically, Meyer is best known for his vocal work with Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer James Williamson (Iggy and the Stooges) and his own punk rock ‘n’ roll band The Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs. Williamson enlisted Meyer to front his band James Williamson & The Pink Hearts for the 2018 album Behind The Shade (Leopard Lady Records) and 2022’s collaboration album with fellow guitar cult hero Deniz Tek of Radio Birdman, Two To One (Cleopatra Records). Meanwhile, the Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs have released over 10 albums and toured the world, with critically acclaimed studio effort One More Drink and the double-CD covers collection All The Covers (And More) both recently released on Rum Bar Records.

In 2021, Meyer collaborated with Eddie Spaghetti of The Supersuckers on a collaboration album called Motherfuckin’ Rock ‘n’ Roll (Kitten Robot Records), which received rave reviews and yielded three Meyer-directed music videos. He also contributed to heavy metal cult hero Thor’s album that year, Alliance, his seventh collaboration with the famed rock warrior. In 2023, Meyer broke his own record with three brand new releases by three different bands: the debut album by his Copenhagen-based sleaze metal band Trading Aces (Rock ‘N’ Roll Homicide on Ripple Music), the debut of his blues-rock band Highway 61 (Driving South on Rum Bar Records), plus an upcoming new Cheetahs Call The Dogs EP on Heavy Medic*tion Records. Additionally, Meyer is a producer, vocalist, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, and composer, who performs live around the world and has logged in road-work with cult legends such as Wayne Kramer (MC5), Cherie Currie (The Runaways), Sylvain Sylvain (New York Dolls), Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys), and jazz legend/Schoolhouse Rock mastermind Bob Dorough, among others.

As a Director, Meyer learned his craft during a decade on staff at NBC. From 2004 to 2014, Frank was Sr. Interactive Content Producer at NBC’s Esquire Network and G4tv, where he fine-tuned his skills directing and producing TV commercials (Dyson, Sonic, BMW), promotional spots (Jurassic World, State Farm, Little Caesars) and campaigns (Knife Fight, Friday Night Tykes) while racking up multiple Telly, Webby, and W3 awards along the way. He also morphed into an ace Digital Content Producer and Field Producer, covering red carpets and events around the world such as Tokyo Game Show, Comic-Con, CES, E3, and many, many others. Yet more awards were nabbed when he created G4tv’s web series Freestyle 101, as well as digital shoulder programming for TV shows like Attack of the Show, X-Play, Friday Night Tykes, Best Bars in America, and others.

From 2016 to 2020, Frank was Sr. Content Producer at Fender Musical Instruments, where he played a key role in creating the look, style, and production workflow of the award-winning Fender Play app. In addition to producing and directing much of the digital tutorial content, Frank helmed the marketing campaign for the 2018 California Acoustic and Signature Ukulele launches.

His work in the digital tutorial side of production led Meyer to fitness-tech company Tonal, where he served as Video Director from 2021 to 2023. Tonal found him delving into a whole new world of content, creativity and tech, directing professional athletes within AI-driven fitness content and live workouts. Meanwhile, Meyer was also serving as a Field Producer and on-camera talent for three seasons of AXS’s Daytime Award-nominated series Music’s Greatest Mysteries from 2021 to 2023.

Meanwhile, Frank is a published author, writing On the Road with the Ramones (Omnibus), When the Wall of Sound Met The New York Underground (Rhino), editing Van Halen: A Visual History 1978 – 1985 (Chronicle), and collaborating with legendary sports photographer Walter Iooss Jr. on a promotional coffee table book plus interactive website for Esquire’s Friday Night Tykes. His latest books, Diaper Dude and From Dude to Dad: The Diaper Dude Guide to Pregnancy, are self-help books for young fathers published by Penguin/Random House.

Along the way, Frank directed the 2020 the award-winning documentary film Risen: The Story of Chron “Hell Razah” Smith, about a Wu-Tang Clan rapper who suffered a near-fatal brain aneurysm and his road to recovery, and his second documentary feature film Freestyle 101: Hip-Hop History was released on Amazon Prime, Google Play and YoutTube Movies in October 2023 through Indie Rights Movies. Chuck D of OPublic Enemy narrates Freestyle 101, and the film stars Ice-T, Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Fat Joe, Del, Open Mike Eagle, Iron Solomon, and a slew of rap legends. Meyer also directed all four new music videos for the latest release (Concept Album) by punk vets the Dwarves, “We Will Dare, “Voodoo,” “Roxette,” and “Terrorist Of Love.”

And just to keep things weird, Meyer also directed the surreal MTV Italy puppet TV series Videogame Theater, blogged for Yahoo! and Variety, and composed music for Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, American Pickers, Fox Sports, Animal Planet, UFC, a slew of terrible MTV and E! shows.
