About this Event
This class teaches the basics of warping, pickup weaving, and finishing. These skills are essential for fiber projects such as placemats, tapestries, scarves and other large cloths. Your teacher will be the accomplished weaver/spinner/sewist Rebecca Lynde-Scott, an expert in many things fiber.
You will take home a piece of fabric you have made yourself, and if you wish you can purchase the collapsible loom you use as well! You are not required to bring any materials or previous knowledge to this class. We will be using cotton yarn for allergen reasons.
North End Makerspace is a nonprofit, volunteer-run makerspace in the north end of the greater Seattle area. We are an inclusive community of makers, creators, and artists who get together to learn, share, and grow. All people, crafts, and skill levels are welcome.
