Learn the art of the frame drum! In a world full of rushing, disconnection, and chaos, the frame drum –- the world’s oldest instrument -- can be an amazing antidote. This class will soothe your nervous system, shift you into a more connected way of being, and strengthen your own inner rhythm. Frame drumming together creates a sense of community.This class is an introduction to the most ancient upright style of playing. No musical experience is required, and drums will be provided. You will learn the basic strokes and a couple rhythms. You will begin to develop a personal relationship with this beautiful and versatile instrument.
Drums are provided, and intimate class will be 15 students max, so register early! (As this is a progressive series, only the first class will be available for drop-in, and only if it does not fill up with students registered for the full series.)

Natanya Apfelbaum has devoted herself to studying and playing the frame drum since she discovered this instrument that connects her to a deep pulse of life. Natanya recently returned to Philly after spending two years in Sicily, Italy, studying frame drumming and dance. She is a deep aficionado of the path of the drum and is excited to build community through this beautiful instrument. Read more about Natanya's journey here.

When you pull into the Falls Center complex, you will see a large parking lot and garage to your right. (With Founded and The Preston on your left.) Mishana studio is inside The Preston.
