An evening filled with poetry and inspiration at Alke Café in Harlem, NY.

Celebrate the new year "2026"with Fragments Of Us poetry experience.

What started as a thought and a discussion between Founder David Hopper and The owner of Alke cafe materialized into a need, a safe space crafted for men.

Now starting their second year the space is opened up an open mic segment for novice and veterans alike. Even though the foundation of Fragmentds is a safe space for men, the open mic segment gives space for anyone to speak their truth, let go of their pain or just share some of thier creativeness.

We will alwats be a place where men can breathe truth into the room, pour passion into verses, and connect through the art of poetry. Every line spit, every story shared, becomes a mirror reflecting resilience, healing, and raw authenticity.

This first show of the year will have new comer to the family Christian Morant; a renowned poet, musician, author of the book GROWTH, and illustrator of the children's adventure I Belong!. His breakthrough single SNAPPIN' is a juxtaposition to his 2024 album I Am Not A Rapper and he has also broken poetic & cinematic barriers by bringing 20 extraordinary artists together in his 2025 production of Stage Presence. Discover more at christianmorant.com and IG @christian.morant

Amongst the other features are Sior Gomez, Born in la Vega, Dominican republic, raised in Bushwick Brooklyn, an artist. Follow Sior on instagram @yosoysior

This space was created to give opportunities to men who may not have an outlet to express themselves without judgment. Fragments is more than an event, it is an experience that you will need to witness for yourself.

This is our first time conducting an open mic portion, so come early to sign up or send a DM to @Fragmentsofus_poetry on instagram or text 917.569. 6271to lock in a slot.

Fragments, looks to build a community that helps, handles and hear the pain, struggles and thoughts of each individual who graces the stage without judgment.

"We Listen, But we Don't Judge"

Each 2nd Friday of the month, David Hopper, a 2x published author, filmmaker, and community advocate, serves as the curator and host of the event.

The night consist ofa full line up of amazing features and an open mic set.

David will weave in his own powerful and inspirational pieces thorughout the night. Journey with him as he turns his pain into poetry.

Fragments is not a generic open mic event, but an expereince where there is interactive activities like the popular vibe check, David's trademark "WE GOT ACTION!!" call and response, and the first-of-its-kind Q&A session that seperates the art from the artist.

FRAGMENTS OF US: It’s not just a name—it’s a calling to speak what’s often left unsaid, and to find unity in the bits and pieces we carry within.

After the show, it is time to let the music awaken any sleeping vibes until the lights come on.

No need to pre game elsewhere, come early, doors open at 7pm with a live Dj setting the tone.

Whether you're a seasoned poetry lover or simply looking for a night of artistic expression, this event is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the power of words. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with others and be moved by the beauty of language.

The night will be infused with great food, signature happy hour drinks, positive vibes and charming people.
