Vivid Motion Dance’s summer show, Fragments in Motion: dances inspired by Sappho’s poems, brings ancient words into the present through movement, memory, longing, and joy. Inspired by the surviving fragments of Sappho’s poetry, this new production explores love, loss, desire, friendship, and the pieces of ourselves we carry forward.
With Vivid Motion’s signature blend of contemporary ballet, jazz, modern, and pointe, Fragments in Motion invites audiences into a world of poetic storytelling, emotional connection, and community. The show is warm, expressive, and deeply human, celebrating the beauty found in what remains, what is remembered, and what is still becoming.
