A Note from the FPNA President
Summer is knocking, Fox Park.
Happy Memorial Day weekend and unofficial start of summer! Our first Music in the Park brought neighbors together for a beautiful evening in Fox Park—the kind of night that reminds you why this neighborhood is so special.
With school letting out, summer brings a different rhythm to the neighborhood—more kids on bikes, more families at the park, more people walking, playing, and gathering. Please take an extra second at stop signs, slow down on side streets, and keep an eye out for one another. A safer summer starts with all of us paying attention.
We’ve met so many new neighbors this past month—at events, around the park, and at our monthly meeting. That energy matters. The FPNA Board is looking at ways to make participation feel more approachable, less overwhelming, and easier to fit into real life. There is a lot we can do together, and more hands really do make the work lighter.
Our next General Meeting is Thursday, May 28 at Jefferson Avenue Mission (2241 S Jefferson). Happy hour starts at 6:00 pm with free drinks and snacks, and the meeting begins at 7:00 pm. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month, and we’re focused on keeping them efficient, welcoming, and worth your time.
This summer, I hope you’ll think about playing a role in the neighborhood, not as one more obligation, but as a chance to help shape the place around you. Come to an event. Share an idea. Offer a little time when you can. Small contributions add up quickly, especially when more of us are part of it.
