Fowl with support from Nick Grenata

Fowl is a collaboration of Graham Browning and Hugh Nankivell (Associate Artist of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra). Fowl came about over lockdown as they explain; “the spirit of composition was: Here’s some words, here’s some music, let’s see how they go together.”.

The Progressive Aspect review of their album Humankindweed said “It’s a fascinating collection of songs. At times truly beautiful, at others challenging and full of bonkers humour whilst poetically wrestling with existential musings on life today. It’s entertaining throughout. A highly recommended listen.”

Fowl’s songs have been described as poignant, potent, avian, joyful, sad, serious and silly, often all at the same time. Ducks, geese, pigeons, weeds, cheese, gas and parrots will be on the menu.

This live performance will include songs from Humankindweed and other works. Audience participation - including harmonies and silliness is much encouraged and expected.

Nick Granata is a musician and writer working in the folk idiom. They perform mostly as a singer and pedal organ player in Shovel Dance Collective, but will be performing material from their upcoming album, concerning dogs, slugs, and sausage rolls.
