To honor the 250th anniversary of the country's founding, the Preservation Society will open the Robert Long House on July 4th for a birthday party celebrating the publication of the Declaration of Independence, which proclaimed the principles on which our new nation would be established.
Celebrate with the Society on July 4th, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Robert Long House and Garden, with birthday cake and refreshments to mark the occasion. To mark the occasion, Steven Lampredi, Fell’s Point’s town crier, will read the Declaration of Independence as part of the birthday remembrance. What better place to hear the words of the Founding Fathers than at the Robert Long House, which was a witness to Robert Long and his neighbors hearing the words for the first time in 1776? Please join the Society for this birthday party for the anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. ✯
