Come learn all about indigo with John Marshall!
This is a four-day workshop which will take you from Indigo Novice to being able to UNDERSTAND and experiment with your own indigo vat after class. Try dyeing with fresh leaves, extracting pigment, and make your own natural indigo vat.
Armed with these three sources of color, you’ll have the opportunity to combine them all into one outstanding piece of indigo art.
Take your new knowledge and apply it with clamp, string, and rice-paste resist methods, as well as covering working with direct painting and printing techniques. We’ll be working with a range of natural fibers, including silk, cotton, ramie, hemp and even leather and paper.
