Award-winning journalist Daniela Gerson celebrates the release of her new book The Wanderers, a moving exploration of her family’s migration across continents and generations, in conversation with Cristina Jiménez, MacArthur “Genius” and founder of United We Dream, whose memoir Dreaming of Home traces her journey from undocumented teenager to national movement leader. Moderated by Mazin Sidahmed, co-founder and Executive Director of Documented, this conversation brings together deeply personal stories with urgent questions about belonging, refuge, and what it means to build a life in the United States today.

Together, they’ll reflect on how immigrant experiences have evolved—from post–World War II displacement to today’s global migration crises—and what has (and hasn’t) changed in the decades since these stories first intersected.
