Founding Circle: A session on having better conversations

We're opening our first series of gatherings like this one, and we want you in the room helping shape it.

Something's shifted in how we talk to people who see things differently to us. Fewer of us feel like we belong where we live, and conversations across a difference tend to end in silence or a fight before anyone's actually been heard. The Centre for Civil Dialogue exists to help people understand each other well enough to stay at the table, even when agreement never comes.

Saturday 21 November, 10am to 1pm, NEC Hangar, Melbourne.

Three hours, practising the conversation most people avoid: the one where you don't agree, and you stay in it anyway. It's facilitated and hands-on, built on research into how people shift their thinking, not how we assume they should.

Where this goes next, and what it looks like in different corners of Melbourne, depends on what happens in this room. Bring your honest reaction. That's what we're asking for.

$29 covers what it costs us to run this per person, catering included. If that works, choose the standard ticket. If money's tight, pay what you can, no explanation needed. If you can go over $29, the difference holds a seat for someone the cost would otherwise keep out. Thank you in advance.
