This session we welcome Jeffrey Schmidt, Life Sciences Patent Attorney, and Karen Potter, Partner, both of Morrison Foerster, as they dive into the Patent Playbook: Practical Approaches to Filing and Beyond. Together, they will reveal how innovative companies strategically leverage patents and other intellectual property - from the earliest stages of invention through commercialization. The seminar will explore a hypothetical invention to illustrate creative approaches to protecting intellectual property, including patent protection, portfolio building, and competitive positioning. The easiest way to get to the DIB is by taking the MTS trolley UC San Diego Blue Line and getting off at the UC San Diego Central Campus stop. The trolley stop is a short 1 minute walk to the DIB.
