Learn the basics of Balboa, one of the classic swing dances known for its smooth movement, close embrace, and intricate footwork. Originally developed in the crowded ballrooms of Southern California in the 1920s and '30s, Balboa is an smooth and playful dance done to a variety of tempos.
Throughout this six-week series, you'll learn the essential rhythms and patterns that make up the basic footwork, and plenty of moves!
Whether you're brand new to Balboa or looking to strengthen your basics, this series will give you the confidence and skills to dance it on the social floor.
No partner or previous dance experience is required. We rotate partners throughout class so everyone has the opportunity to learn and dance together.
*Sign up for both our Lindy Hop & Balboa class series and save $15!
