Calling all wāhine warriors! I'm so excited to be able to bring this Introduction to [Rongomamau](https://www.facebook.com/groups/60925293448/user/61568376942969/?__cft__[0]=AZXw8zJuWuKmhxXolaWlowq-DVuaO-HMu9i3Le7itt1sS5RjJJHqio4YRERF6I6o7-oc22RT1YQSPg5Cj9XAdtdDgnzaRJZLKT3MWFmy71JmSqAJHieN-wvO0RluJH0OYtSs7JlBskdlIM47c56WtGm4aEGgCXXaCb2CwW0x732Z5Q_ncWuojEQc_J3HwKYw2_TGchdlpM-IbgfczK90VMKm&__tn__=-]K-R) to you.Rongomamau was an ancient Maori art of spirit and combat. In 1907 it was outlawed for practice by European settlers and the schools closed and those with the knowledge died. One school taught the art in secret and it was passed down through one lineage to one surviving master, Umutakarangi Timoti Pahi.
Today Umutakarangi believes the world is increasingly out of balance between masculine and feminine power and so he has decided it is his sacred duty to remind wāhine from all cultures of their power and inner strength through the teachings of Rongomamau.
These movements were taught to the female assassins of the iwi as a way to disarm enemies and remain strong of mind, and to quickly heal the body from wounds both physical and mental.
Umutakarangi will be holding "Foundations of Rongomamau" day events at 13 locations around New Zealand in the company months in an effort to remind women of their inner power and build resilience and trust in our minds and our bodies.
The day will run from 9:30am to 2:30pm and will include lunch. He will cover:
* How to control your mind & respond during conflict (home, workplace or as a physical defense to an attack)
* The six laws of PehiPehi to live by that will make you feel stronger and more powerful
* How to connect with the inner Goddesses inside of you and feel radiant and clear
* He will show you basic combat moves (gentle) that will allow you to defend yourself from an attack, that you can practice to build your own strength and trust in your body
At the end of the wānanga (learning event) you will form a circle of trust with the other wāhine at the session, bonds which will help you in every part of your life to feel more at peace with yourself and within your community.
This event teaches traditional Māori movements and uses Māori terms but is open to women of all ages (over 16) and cultural backgrounds or ethnicities.
The cost for the event is $195 per person for the day, but early bird pricing brings this to $155 until 18th Sept.
This is such a unique opportunity to learn this ancient artform from the very last surviving Master of the Knowledge.

It is a fantastic way to strengthen your body and your mind and to learn this ancient artform that is nearly extinct directly from the one remaining teacher with the knowledge.
