Webinar Description:
It is often challenging for children to separate their feelings from their actions. When struck with big emotions like anger, frustration or disappointment, impulse control disappears and the child may respond dramatically or disruptively. Resilience is the developing child’s superpower. When big feelings emerge, resilience enables the child to regulate those emotions and bounce back. This webinar will focus on self-regulation’s role as one of our brain’s most important executive functions. Learn how self-regulation can be strengthened and explore strategies for coaching an unruly preschooler toward increased impulse control and greater resilience.

Objectives:
The participants will be able to…
1.Define characteristics of self-regulation and its relationship to executive function
2. Recognize ways to strengthen self-regulation in the developing child
3. Identify effective ways to respond to challenging behavior and support young children in developing greater resilience.
