DISCUSSION DETAILS:
Despite plentiful evidence that plant-rich diets are beneficial for people, the planet, and animals, and a recent surge in plant-based innovation and interest, consumption of some plant-based products has started to wane, and people continue to eat more and more meat. How can we catalyze a mainstream, lasting diet shift toward plant-rich eating?
In this discussion, you’ll hear perspectives from a range of organizations focused on shifting cultural norms around the food we eat – from consumer marketing campaigns addressing deep-seated cultural barriers to meat reduction and inspiring Americans to think differently about their diets, to leveraging behavioral science to normalize plant-rich diets in popular TV shows and movies, to shifting college campus food norms to cultivate a new generation of leaders committed to global food system transformation.
This event is part of Food Day at Climate Week NYC, hosted by Tilt Collective (formerly known as PlantWorks), Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Bezos Earth Fund.
