What does resistance mean to you? There are many, many forms of resistance: in art and in life. In this workshop, Jordan will facilitate discussions about resistance in creating art – visual and written – and participants will create and leave with a zine (or a couple) of their own.
Zines themselves are a form of resistance, a subversive way for people to share their ideas and find community. As a result, zines are typically associated with feminist, punk, and queer circles that are generally anti-establishment, anti-capitalist, and anti-racist. Let’s apply these ideas of resisting the “rules” of art and make a cool zine!
The workshop is geared towards teens + adults. There is no prerequisite knowledge required. All materials provided.

• Makers of all skill levels are welcome. The workshop is geared towards teens + adults. There is no prerequisite knowledge required.
• All necessary tools to participate are provided.

Jordan Roth is a storyteller, curator, and zine-maker based in Western New York. Through collage, photography, painting, and other forms, they create art from an intersectional queer and feminist perspective.
